We’re bringing a taste of Spain to the midwest with this holiday pomegranate sangria recipe. Give this a try at your Christmas celebration!

Directions

  • Place the sugar, water and ginger slices in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, simmering until thick and syrupy. Remove the ginger, then let cool.
  • Place the syrup, red wine, pomegranate juice, brandy and orange juice in a large pitcher or punch bowl and stir to combine. Place in fridge to rest, at least 2-3 hours.
  • Roughly an hour before serving, add in sliced oranges, apples and pomegranate arils.
  • Serve over ice with more fruit slices if desired.
