Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Stuffing is a staple on all Thanksgiving tables. While everyone uses different ingredients, we think adding fruit to a sausage stuffing puts it into the “best side on the table” category!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups cubed whole wheat bread

  • 3 3/4 cups cubed white bread

  • 1 pound turkey sausage

  • 1 container Crazy Fresh Stuffing Mix

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons dried sage

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1 golden delicious apple, cored and chopped

  • 1 container Crazy Fresh Cranberry Salsa

  • 1/3 cup chopped Crazy Fresh Parsley

  • 3/4 cup turkey stock

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350º. Spread bread cubes into a single layer on a large baking sheet. Bake 5-7 minutes until evenly toasted. Transfer to a large bowl.
  • In a large skillet, cook sausage and stuffing mix over medium heat. Add sage, rosemary and thyme, and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Pour sausage mixture over the bread. Mix in chopped apple, Cranberry Salsa and parsley. Drizzle with turkey stock and melted butter. Mix lightly.
  • Bake for 45 minutes at 425º until browned.
